We're growing our team, and we've created a radical business model to empower you. HairSmith and Co. membership is a new way to rent your chair. With the membership, you no longer have to pay for the time that you're not using the chair. Instead, we offer chair rental by the hour. We also offer a much more flexible commitment to traditional chair rental.

What makes the membership, well a membership? When you join your monthly fee of $50 includes 3 hours of salon access to the salon which can go towards models, workshops, classes, or even behind the chair. We also offer programming from yoga movement workshops for beauty industry professionals to talks on how to create your own brand.

This is your chance to independently run your book of business in a supportive and friendly environment with other incredible hair stylists. At HairSmith and Co. we root for each other and we love what we do.

The Details

  • Membership starts at $50 a month and includes 3 hours of access to the salon each month. That can be applied to your time behind the chair, workshops, classes, creating social media content, or working on models, it’s all up to you!

  • Chair rentals are $12 per hour and $14 per hour with an assistant

  • 30-day minimum commitment

What we’re looking for…

An experienced hairstylist who holds a valid VA cosmetology license and boasts a strong clientele. We’re also a social space, so we want someone who’s looking forward to being surrounded by talented, down-to-earth stylists who love what they do!

HairSmith and Co. is a hybrid salon with employees and independent stylists just like you. We have a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. You can expect to find a group of awesome people who love what they do and have fun doing it!

A Note From Our Founder

Hi, I’m Megan, I am the leader and founder of HairSmith and Co. The craft of hairdressing found me. I was sitting in a Psych class and a classmate asked if I wanted a job helping out at the front desk of a new salon on the weekends. Twenty-five years later, I am so glad I said, "sure, why not."

With over 20 years in the business, I’m now at a phase in my career in which mentorship is my biggest priority and joy. I love being able to support other stylists achieve their business goals.
